AHMEDABAD: Chirag Tejura and Aditya Rathod shot blistering 50s to help their team Universal Cricket Academy (UCA) 'B' beat SN Cricket Academy (SNCA) by 78 runs in SN Cup T20 Cricket Tournament.
Being played at St Xavier's College ground, Chirag slammed an unbeaten 46-ball 77 while opener Aditya hit 53-ball 76 as the duo added 124 runs for the second wicket to help UCA post 179 for two in 20 overs.
After their batsmen, it was time for their bowlers to fire in unison as Yagnesh Kabariya led the charge with three wickets. Bhavin Engle and Zaid Shekh took two wickets each as UCA restricted their rivals to 101for nine in 20 overs to register a comfortable win.
For the losing side, Rohan Gajjar top-scored with 14-ball 23.
In another cricket match in the city, Vidyanagar High School (VHS) recorded a huge 139-run win over Asia English School (AES) in two-day under-16 Hiramani School Tournament.
Asked to bat first, Dhruvil Joshi top scored with a 129-ball 89 while Vishwas Detroja extended able support as he scored an unbeaten 112-ball 49 to help their team VHS posted a respectable 238 for seven in their allotted 80 overs.
For AES, Vedang Sadhu was the pick of the lot with five wickets.
Het Patel then rattled the rival's boat with a five-wicket haul as VHS bowled out their rivals for a paltry 99 in just 48.1 overs to register a facile win.
For the losing side, Dhruv Shah top-scored with 48-ball 28.
